Dear Principals, Guidance Counselors and Advisors, The Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (MTNA) located in McMinnville, has a scholarship fund for interested high school seniors or college students to study horticulture. Eligible students are those who are legal residents of middle Tennessee as defined in the geographic location on the enclosed application. Two $1500 scholarships can be awarded and each given in two payments of $750 at the beginning of fall term and spring term. The application must be received at the MTNA Office no later than January 15, 2007. This is a great opportunity for students interested in studying horticulture science, landscape design, ornamental horticulture, nursery management, golf course management, or other related programs in horticulture. The scholarship recipient may attend the college or university of choice. Ornamental horticulture is increasing in popularity across the US and in Tennessee. The estimated value of the horticulture industry in Tennessee is over $400 million and is increasing at a steady pace. The Middle Tennessee Nursery Association recognizes the need for proper training in horticulture and is willing to invest to help students in this area.
